Coach Charvis Richmond
- Coaching over 14 years in public schools
- Background of coaching Track and Field and Football at the junior high level
- D1 football player at Northwestern State University
- Accomplished thrower in High School, Discus PR of 177’, Qualifier for Regionals, Texas Relays and State meet
- Accomplished football player in High School, All District at LB and RB, All ETX and All State at RB
- Has been coaching throwers through CoachUp app since 2006 in glide shot put and rotational discuss

Kai Schmidt
Coaching Methodology: Long throws are the result of fine tuning technique to the athlete’s individual characteristics and abilities, not changing athletes to mirror the same technique.
- Grew up and lived in Germany for 20 years
- 15+ years of throwing experience
- Advanced technical knowledge in Discus, ShotPut and Javelin
- Former successful D1 thrower at Abilene Christian University
- Ranked 8th and 18th in the nation in Discus and ShotPut, respectively his Senior year.
Achievements:
- Southland Conference Record Holder – Discus 61.74m (202’6”)
School Record Holder – Indoor ShotPut 19.33m (63’5”) - Most Valuable Player Award 2018 – scoring 28 Points in three events (1. Discus/ 1. ShotPut/ 2. Javelin)
- Two consecutive years named Athlete of the Year in the Southland Conference (2018/2019)
- Placed in the top three at every conference meet and event participated in for 5 consecutive years with multiple conference championships.

Morgan Knight
My throwing career at ACU with fellow Throwing Factory coach Kai Schmidt consisted of great experiences with even greater athletes. We were fortunate enough to be a part of truly awesome meets such as Texas Relays, Long Beach, Texas Tech, Arizona State, and NCAA West Regionals to name a few.
I’m looking forward to helping young athletes progress mentally and physically to give them the best opportunity as possible to enjoy the great sport of Throwing Heavy Things!!!!
Achievements:
- Texas State Champion and Runner-Up in the Shot and Disc
- College Throwing Career at Abilene Christian University consisted of Weight Throw, Hammer, Discus, Shot Put
- Multiple Southland Conference Medals and Honors
- Multiple-time NCAA West Regional Qualifier (ended those seasons as top 50 disc thrower in the nation in respective events)
- Played a role in #2 NCAA Discus Squad ranking in 2018 and #1 NCAA Discus Squad Ranking in 2019
- Top 10 All-Time at ACU in 3 events (Weight Throw, Hammer, and Discus)
- Spent time as a Graduate Assistant under ACU Coach Jerrod Cook whole training for 2020 Olympic Trials
